In this magnificent piece of work from Fiona Halls collection entitled Water a number of materials are used. This work is made from a combination of gouache, acrylic paint, and water colours on Daphne and milk carton paper bound with leather. The leather bounding of the works makes them appear as if in a book. This interesting combination of materials provides the work with its luminosity (one of the words I chose to use). The layered effect adopted by Fiona Hall in this artwork gives it a three-dimensional appearance.
